Because that’s what happened minutes after their exchange of vows and march-out - and as Carolyn walked with now-husband Eranda to a function room for the traditional tea ceremony.

Here’s someone who was enraptured by the moment - the “Is this really happening” kind of joy - and could not help but to lower her inhibitions and allow the cheery vibes to play out.

That’s what it is at the culmination of a long relationship that has endured its own challenges: Marriage, the fruit finally realised through a season as meaningful as it is daunting.

And the romance is long in a certain sense - Years back, Eranda made a fateful decision to move to Singapore from his native Sri Lanka, seeking to create a future he can be proud of.

Then he met Carolyn.

The rest, as they say, is history. And what a journey it has been, not just for the groom, but for him and the one he chooses to spend a lifetime with.
